Calendula is another flower which is a common sight in our gardens back home. The short plants with elongated fleshy leaves and yellow-orange flowers is a pretty sight in the winter/spring sun.
Calendula flowers has medicinal properties and also widely used as a dye for fabrics, food and cosmetics. Until now I didn't know that the florets are edible. They are often used to add colour or garnish salads. the leaves are edible as well.
